January warm weather stretches have produced some incredible fishing!

Well we have kicked the new year off and if the fishing we have right now is a indication on how the rest of the year will go.... it is going to be incredible. Unusually warm weather stretches have produced amazing open water bites. Water temperatures have been hovering in the mid to low 40's, as long as these temps stay above 40 we will continue to see active feeding stripers along the channel edges.

Targeting winter Striped Bass is no easy task. Some days it requires covering a lot of miles before finding the right conditions to find fish. Even then the fish may not be actively feeding. What we see this time of year in cooler temperatures is the fish are not overly active so they do not need to feed much to satisfy themselves. Most days you will get about and hour bite before the fish shut back down. The trick is to be in the right place at the right time. If you can accomplish this, you have the chance to catch a fish of a lifetime.
